Im just going to Keep it simple....go catch lots of fish...see what happens..who cares what team I end up on. Don't lose sight of the "fun" aspect. I might even end up on team Brewery (missed the cut).

Hi Liam,
I would also like to try out. 2FlySue would like to be a Controller.
But I think 2FlySue should also try out since she out fished me this weekend.
Thanks,
Chiaki

Please add my name to the list of folks trying to be competitors. As the list currently stands, the odds are in my favor. Ten slots and eight competitors.
However, something tells me that this situation is likely to change.

If you're practicing catch and release, what difference does it make for the size of the fish you land.

We're less than two weeks away from the team trials on September 8th. It's time to start finalizing who will be trying out this year. If you're trying out but are not yet on the list below, then please chime in here so we know who will be trying out and so we can set up enough controllers.
Please note there is a $250 entry fee per team. The SSFFC Club will be paying half ($125 each) of the two teams fees. The remaining $125 is to be paid by each team member ($25 each).
Thanks,
Liam

On another note, we've been working in the background on a revised format for the tryouts. In order to create some balance between the two club teams, we've come up with a new tryout/draft format. I will be posting the new tryout format details in the next couple days. In the meantime I'd like to announce the two Team Captains.
I'm very proud to announce that the top two SSFFC finishers from last years tournament have been selected as Team Captains! They are:
Joe Martin (Tech)
&
Randy Skidgel (Randy)
Congratulations guys!

Hey you SSFFC team members, you might want to check out this video. It might be just the ticket for the low clear water that you will be dealing with on the Kern during tryouts and the Tourney. This is a very effective way to cover a lot of skinny water. It requires an ultralight (2 or 3wt) long rod and very long 14’to 30’ leader designed for this style of fishing. It is not the easiest setup to cast, but is very sensitive to even the slightest take, once you have it mastered.
