It's a great idea. I'm going to look into doing something similar on several special regs waters here that don't have that quality of signage.

We added Spanish in 2007 and I know for sure they were changed in 1997 after the initial installation when the Special Regs started in 1990. They held up pretty good except for a couple of bullet holes and someone using the cedar shingles for firewood.
When I striped off the shingles last time, there was a good number of brown stoneflies underneath. They were about 1" long and fairly slim bodied. Maybe that's why the BHPT or a Prince about a size 10 or 12 works well up there.

Got to see the signs up close this past Tues. They look great and seem to me at least very clear. Thank you again for your efforts.
On another subject. Who and what is being done with the fishing survey cards up there?

Retiring DFG biologist Christy McGuire asked a while back if someone would volunteer from a nearby fishing club to collect the survey box forms from Johnsondale Bridge & Forks of the Kern Trailhead each month. Christy was out of Kernville. With her retirement, someone from Fresno office would have to drive up each month. I volunteered, but have permission to sign up additional help. The forms are mailed to DFG biologist Roger Bloom in Rancho Cordova, CA, for observation. Of course, the forms only reflect honest fishermen's catches & releases.
I made a collection in early July to both locations. Were there still blank forms available at Johnsondale B.?

Thanks Amy!
Needs replenishing. Two weeks ago the box only had a couple left.
