Club Fly Tying Class July 14th

WHERE: Oddfellows Hall, 50 Tobias St., Kernville next to town square park.  
 
WHEN: Saturday July 14th, 9am-1pm
 
WHO: Southern Sierra Fly Fishing Club members. You may become a member now or at the class for a $25 yearly fee.  
 
TYING LEVEL: Beginner to intermediate tyers welcome!!  
 
 
ITINERARY:  
1.Material selection, preservation, and storage  
2.Thread handling techniques: pinch wrap, fold in method, parachutes, perfect split tails, upright wings, etc…  
3.Basic techniques:  proportions, palmering hackle, ribbing and dubbing applications  
4.Possible Flies:  Wooly Bugger, Elk Hair Caddis, Parachute Adams, Hare’s Ear Nymph for beginners. Spinning hair for Irresistible’s, Dahlberg’s etc…, Rubber leg-krystal flash Stimulator for intermediates.
 
MATERIALS NEEDED: All vises, tools and materials provided by the club. If you have your own vise, tools and materials feel free to bring them.

Just joined the club. How often do you hold this class. I can't make it this time but interested in the next one.

Hi Mike,
 
There is no set schedule for tying classes, but if there is enough interest and the clubs schedule works out, we may have another around the end of the year or early next year. Keep your eye out for future listings. We would love to have you along for the next class!

Yes you do! I had a 15 lb. carp to the bank yesterday on  a sz. 8 Clouser  that Rob sent me. It pulled out before I could it get it landed properly. Before the year's out I'll be posting some monster or other caught on one of his little  jewels. Smiley
