Trip to the forks (Read 1779 times)

Pretty much a toss up and depends on your wading ability and willingness to take risks. What little snow is above will be certainly be coming down the chute in the coming weeks. Let us know how it is.

I would not bother with the forks. If anything maybe try hiking way up the little Kern, and even so, that might be a little to high. Going to be sometime till that is really worth the hike down. Good storm rolling in with sub tropical moisture tapped in it so Run off may come in full swing in the next few days. I would say stick with the tributary's. Peppermint creek I am sure will be good and is pretty easy to fish if that road is going to be open.

Okay, I cry "Uncle". I've staggered around the Sequoia National Forest Website chasing most of the links and can't find said information about gate opening. Can you give me a hint on where I should look?
