Nice day in the Locals
Apr 13th, 2012, 8:22pm

By way of introduction, a few of the guys know me here as an active forum member & moderator on another site. I was briefly a member over here a few years ago when I was brand new to flyfishing and still had a 'Bloody Decks" mentality. I didn't have a clue as to hotspotting and fish handling and paid dearly... Roll Eyes No harm, no foul & there's been a lot of proverbial 'water under the bridge' since then. Seems like a lifetime ago. I've always enjoyed the reports here as they often feature waters I  don't get to visit. Guided the Kern for several years, but as a whitewater guide... Never fished it. Go figure.

That being said, I enjoyed a day out in my backyard. Took along a good buddy who guides in Utah full time during the season and watched him pluck the nicest local I've seen. Anyway, here's a few pics, along with some from other recent trips in my home water. I think you'll see quickly I love blue lines and ultralight gear. Tight lines to all!

Great shots as usual Curtis! Looks like you two yet another great day. Have you introduced him to each and every one of your friends in that water now? Grin

Well, I gotta tell you, he made the intro all on his own on that 18" fish.... Had I known that guy was in a pool the size of my kitchen, I might have bogarted the hole! BTW, taking Kyle tonight up to that water you & I last fished at the Blu gathering. Rugby season's over, the real season is beginning!

Good luck tomorrow Curtis.  Wish I could get away.  That place should be prime.  Btw we'll have to hit your local before the summer crowds hit.  Tom.

Welcome back Curtis!   Nice fish, and you accuse me of unearthing large trout from our locals.  You've been holding out!
