Yup, it was certainly spectacular!
This was fish number one. Didn't bother with repeat photos since they looked the same (and fishing was more fun than taking pictures).
I an still trying to figure if the fishing or first mobile posting is more exciting. OK - the fish win!

If you're practicing catch and release, what difference does it make for the size of the fish you land.

Hey folks. Looks like great fun. Got a question. Were you tubing or just wading along the shore?

I was wading with my calf high farmer boots. That was mostly so I could strip my line over water rather that dirt.

Excellent. Thanks for the 411. While I definitely have the fever, I wasn't looking forward to gearing up the entire flotilla system.
Just call me "lazy".

Hey there Ants. Thanks for the pointers. Sadly though, I have to report that I threw woolly buggers and droppers for over four hours in the coves and points and walked away with nothin' but stank, ....and I don't think it was from Big Foot giving me a hug.
The true upshot of the afternoon was that I got to enjoy God's great outdoors! Beautiful afternoon. Got to break in my new Simms G3 vest and work on my casting. Gotta love it.

I went by the shop this morning and Sharon, (I hope I got the name right) turned me on to the lake. I only had an hour but managed to get a couple hits and one into the net. The wind had come up but it was great! Must have been the lucky hat I won at the meeting on Saturday night.

Thanks for the tip Guy!
Wen to the shop on Sat. Guy told us to hit the lake it should be fun.... So we hit the lower and I got a couple of trout and we went up to the lake , man o' man.... that was the right move. It was ridiculous fishing for us for about 2-3 hours until we had to pack up and drive back down the hill.
Saw guy there on is boat as well I think with Trouthunter from what I remember but could be wrong. It was sure fun! You guys need to get up in there and fish the lake with Guy on his boat. It's stupid fishing! Lot's of fun.

Gonna try it out this Sat on the tube. So stoked. I've never had a good day on the lake. Maybe it's time.

I was thinking about doing the same thing if the weather cooperates. Not really trying to be sitting out there in the rain, and hopefully it isn't quite as windy as it was this past Sunday.

I was thinking about taking my tube up there soon also. Then I saw the lake is supposed to be stocked the week of the 22nd. So I was thinking about Sat. the 28th. But that got me wondering, when was the last time they stocked the Kern? Do they stop during the winter? I know there are fish in there, and I'm not the kinda fisherman that chases the stocking truck around. But I find it curious.
Anyways, I hope to see some of you guys up there!

I could be wrong, but I believe the last time they stocked the river was in Novemeber.
