2010 Vous Rod – Sage One
Dec 14th, 2011, 11:51pm

I can’t remember if it landed heads or tails, but Ryan Buhler had it correct.  Ryan has been a long time SSFFC supporter and his daughter was in the first Kids Academy.  Ryan always steps up when the call comes in for fly donations to the Club.  It was time for the SSFFC to return the favor.

Ryan selected the Sage One and here’s the components:

Blank: Sage One 590-4
Reel Seat: REC Nickle Silver – NBS
Wood Insert: REC – Amboyna
Agate Guide: Struble - Black Select
Guides: Snake Brand
Hookkeeper: Snake Brand
Thread: Gudebrod – Main: Black #001
                Trim: Metallic Silver #9002
                Alternating: Metallic Green #9358
Feather Inlay: Stanbery – Junglecock

The trim is silver metallic 2 turn, no ca.  I asked Ryan for his favorite color and its green.  So I threw in an alternating wrap in metallic green to add some color to the feather inlay.

Ryan it’s in the mail to you.  It was a real pleasure to build it for you.   I hope it brings you years of joy.

Thanks,
Chiaki

Beautiful piece of art Chiaki and Jon!! Shocked

I'm sure it will be worth the wait for a special Christmas this year.

I can't wait to borrow for a few casts to flick a dry to a sippin' trout.

Peace, Rob

Chiaki -

Another awesome build! And it couldn't be going to a more deserving fly flicker. I'm sure it will get plenty of use from Ryan and I can't wait to see the action shots with it in bendo mode!

Congrats to you again Ryan, and to Chiaki it is a great looking rod. I am jealous, between work and coaching I have had no time to build anything since the 'Vous. Enjoy your sweet new rod.
