It's funny, right about this time every year I get close to pulling the kayak down out of the rafters... Then they start seeing sharks all up and down the coast. For those that didn't see it... Here's the link.

And just for fun, googled "shark in wave" here are the images that resulted. Some are obviously photoshopped and pretty funny, but enough are real that it looks like sharks in waves ain't all that unusual!!

Kayak will be dry for a while I guess.

I think the said it was at Swami's. There are always Thrashers and Great Whites from san Onofre down! we spent the day @ LaJolla cove a few weeks ago and saw several seals meet their doom. Wouldn't ya know it...left the camera at home!!!!.
I have been in the water @ HB and Trestles (San Mateo Creek) and seen large sharks. It is awesome to realize there are still places where we are not the apex predator!

Why do you think I started fishing the surf so much, and stopped kayaking!!
One gal I talked with recently won't even paddle out in a popular surf spot in the SM Bay because she says it's infested with great whites. They do seem to get a lot of helicopter shots of the smaller ones there. Standing knee deep in the surf, I get the irony of a shark looking to catch me.
