My 3rd annual steelhead fly trip DATES
Aug 18th, 2011, 1:01am

For me, this will be the third year chasing steelhead on a fly.  Year 1 was epic, hooked around 7 landed 3.  Last year...NOTHING...but a kick ass time 'tooning down a river.

So the dates for this year will be

Leaving January 3rd in the evening (7:30pm'ish) from Bakersfield.

Coming home late January 6th.

This is during the week, and that is the right way to do it.

Staying in a wonderful cabin with fishing out the backdoor.

Sleeps up to 8.  Guided trip, pontoon's, or just walking... all welcome.

Dates might be adjusted if rain causes us problems...will need to be flexible with vacation.

Stuff from 2010

During the 2011 trip... I vaguely remember swimming naked in the Trinity river at midnight during the dead of winter.  Or maybe that was just a whiskey induced, steelhead crazed dream.

What ever happend to the pictures from 2011? Chris? Cris?

6 to 8 wts.   I prefer 7wt.

As the time gets closer and we have a list, we can figure out who's doing guided trips, and book them together for a group rate, and split the lodging.

Too far off to say "Yes" for sure, marking it on the calendar. We'll see how it plays out. Don't swim naked in public, but have been known to sport a leopard print thong on such occasions.  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

Couple more details...

If we can get 6 or more people, it would be about 40 bucks a night for lodging.  Not to bad considering were right on the banks of the river in a plush nice lodge.

Trinity river adventure inn...

PM Sent.  This looks absolutely fantastic.  I don't have the gear but I imagine I can track some down somewhere or even buy some if I absolutely need to.  I'm on winter break at the time so the only, ONLY reason I wouldn't make it is a) if y'all decided Bonner wasn't a cool enough name to allow a new guy to tag along (Xbilly) or b) if the child abuse seminar I have to attend is during then.  It's three months out and I'm already looking forward to it.  Dreams of monster steelheads ripping my arms out of socket will be teasing me for the next three months.

A) Bonner is the best name ever
B) I hope its some sort of professional seminar and not court ordered.

Gives us time to book the guides, and lodging.

1) me
2) ChrisC

4) Possible... Randy
5) Possible... Bonner
6) Jeremy

Even if only two guys get a guide for the first day...they will be responsible and held accountable for all intel activity, and if they fail, will be shot on site for derelection of duty.
