Any other guys out there in the Antelope Valley area that make bamboo rods? Just finishing up a Garrison 202E...

Well, I'm in the Inland Empire (Riverside), Pete's out on the coast... so that puts you about in the middle of us.
Welcome!

Mike,
You and I met at the Eastern Sierra Gathering. I've been to the last two...enjoy that gathering. I'd say I'm the gray haired guy but that wouldn't help in that crowd.
Jon,
Plastic...hmmmf...
Actually bamboo guys, in addition to above average intelligence and painful good looks, see others as just a cast or two from redemption and conversion.
Sitting in a float tube or throwing a cone-head wooly bugger...I'm getting out the 9ft 5wt Sage LL.
We'll have to have a beer and cast a few rods, cane of course.

Oh, now, Pete... where's that "tolerance" of the unenlightened I've been teaching you...
Jon can post here... in limited fashion, of course... remember he helped me figure out how to get my (#&((#^#@ password reset... LOL!
Hi, Bob... yeah, sayin' gray-haired at the gathering doesn't help a lot. But you've been there twice, that narrows it down.
I don't know of anyone in AV that builds bamboo, but I just got word from Todd Talsma (Michigan builder) that there's a guy about 10 miles from me that has been asking him how they're built. Hahaha... ought to be fun.
best,
Mike

Pete,
I lived in Paso for two years while going to Poly. I was gonna contact you a couple weeks ago. My wife n I get up to the central coast a couple times a year to hit the wineries, have crab cakes at taco temple by Morro Bay, prowl antique stores and visit friends in Nipomo. The weather caused us to cancel and hunker down at home...next time hopefully.

Bob,
Next time you are up here, let me know. Hopefully I will have my shop built by then (if the rain ever stops long enough).
Mike,
Funny, I ratted you out to Todd and he told me you already had ratted me out. Figured you were closer to the guy down there.

Hey, Pete... yeah, found out after I told him about you and I being down (ok, OUT this way) here.
DIdn't realize the fella was so close to me till later. There's a coupla builders down in N. San Diego that wanna do a gathering down this way sometime, too. Maybe y'all can make that one, I'll get more info, he doesn't have an idea where or when yet.
laters,
Mike
