My first attempt at three new techniques......First time tying with CDC, tying with wing sheeting, and adding antennas.

Work in progress.  Next one will have more hackle, better antennas.  I put it in glass of water and it looked like a real caddis moth and it was the first pattern I've tied that impressed my wife Roll Eyes

Proto #2.  Changed several materials but broke off an antenna at the end.  It has  tan/caddis green Haretron dubbing that doesn't show well in pic. Also changed from a thread/CDC body to foam.

Proto #3  Changed to Trout Ice caddis green dubbing up front and UV tan for under the foam.  Looking better but will probably change the thorax back to Haretron caddis green.  This version, untreated,  sinks just under the water line with the rump and wings out of the water.  I shook the heck out of the glass trying to simulate the Kern.

These swaps have been really cool Cool

In Saturdays mail.  This was a fun swap.
Thanks!

Final Version.  Recipe taken from several online patterns.

Tent Wing Caddis by FishinXJ
Tiemco TMC 100 12/16
Ice Dub Tan UV
Olive/Tan  Thread
D’s Web Wing Mottled Tan
Guinea Quill
Larva Lace Foam Strips
Whitings 100 Hackle size 18

Ice Dub rocks!

Pick only the finest foam Grin

Wing Cutters.  New technique.  I prefer burners.  Cutters are over sized so you waste time trimming wings.

Guinea Quill.  New technique.  Antennas on a dry pattern.
