New Rod
Dec 10th, 2010, 7:31am

I just got a couple of new bamboo rods last week. I'll have them out on the water this week and let you know how it goes. Needless to say, I'm excited. Smiley

These rods were made by a friend in Cody Wy who guides and has been fishing Bamboo for years. He had been refinishing rods in his spare time but built a shop for new builds this year. Here's a 7 1/2 5/6 wt rod based on a Dickerson taper. Scott field tested it on the Shoshone near his house before he sent it to me. He liked the way it casts and apparently so do the fish.

Hard to tell the out of state fish from the CA ones.  What a sweet rod.

The rod really casts nicely. With a nice relaxed stroke it can really zing the line out there.
