Rod case
Jul 4th, 2010, 11:44am

Just finished a presentation case for the "Jack's Helping Hand" charity rod I made.  Made it out of Oak with brass hardware and box joints.  I am having brass plaques of "Renaissance Rods" and "Jack's Helping Hand" made to install.  Took forever to build the box joint jig.  I went with 3/16" fingers.  Getting them to fit properly took quite a while.  Glad I took the time to make the joints, they were worth it  Wink

Beautiful as with all your work.   Norm Abram would be jealous.

How can I know if I am a good fisherman, or if I really only catch the dumbest trout?

Just when I thought a rod with lime green wraps couldn't get any better, you go and throw it in a beautifully crafted presentation case!  Shocked

Pete,
Fiiiiiiinnnnnnneeeeeee piece of work.   Wink I love the detail with the box joint.   An excellent compliment to your flexible grass implement.  I'm sure someone will be very excited to end up with that treasured masterpiece.

Thanks, everybody for the compliments.  I really hated to part with that rod, but it is going to a great cause.  The brass plaques really finished it off.

Already started another case for a three piece rod going to a worthy cause.  These cases might become an option for my bamboo builds.
