Aug 24th, 2009, 4:05pm

I'm hosting a swap called "Hoppertime". It will be limited to the first ten tiers. Choose your favorite hopper pattern and tie ten. The swap deadline will be one month from the starting date. If all goes well, we should start by the end of August and you will recieve your flies by the end of September. This is for all skill levels. Photos will be posted here as well as my web site.
Regards, Steve

I'll play.  Let me look at some hoppers and I will get back to you.  Thinking of something with foam in it.

Count me in. I need to learn a few new techniques (furling and dubbing loops) so put me down for one of Ken Hanley's Furled Grasshopper patterns. I'll have to see what colors of antron I have on hand. This will give me the motivation I need to sit at the vise and work out these new-to-me techniques.

B/C Hopper

B/C stands for Barr/Craven. John Barr and Charlie Craven got together to make up this pattern which works quite well as an indicator. Another fly tier that goes by the screen name of Dr. Bull Trout came up with an awesome video in which he modified the pattern a bit, but not much. Take a look at this:

Man that is a great looking cork. A modification to local size and colors is going to be in my Kern box. Thanks

I've lurked for a while but am new to the forum.  I'm a member of the Fresno Fly Club.  Sign me up for the hopper swap if there is still room.  I'll have to figure out what pattern to tie but look forward to seeing some new patterns.
Thanks,
Bill Bruce
