2009 4th Annual Rendezvous

Hi Everyone,

I have just emailed the 2009 Rendezvous applications, SSFFC 2009/10 Club membership forms and the SSFFC waiver to the current members. If you are a current member and did not receive my email, please let me know via PM or email at haramic@aol.com This years Rendezvous will be tons of fun.

Here we go again!!! Come and join the festivities regardless of your fishing ability and whether or not you want to participate in the tournament. This is a fund raising club/membership drive event get together. Bring your family and/or significant ‘other’ and have fun.

TOURNAMENT ENTRY FEE: $25, dinner is included. Plus new Sept. 2009 to Aug. 2010 membership is also required. One year membership fee is $25 for an individual membership; $35 for family membership. Current Club members (2008/09) are eligible for early application from August 10th to 24th. General application is from August 25th to Sept. 11th or until the maximum number of participants of 79 is reached. We expect to fill all 79 spots, so please return application as soon as possible.

Check in: 7:30 to 8:30 AM Announcements: 8:30 AM
Start fishing at 9:00 AM until 2:00 PM Sharp Return check in: 2:00 to 2:30 PM
Casting Contest, raffle ticket sales and social: 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Dinner and Entertainment: 5:00 PM
Awards: 6:00 PM

Rules of Tournament:
Areas to be fished are from the Johnsondale Bridge to the bridge in Kernville, this area maybe be expanded based upon the number of participants.
Fly Fishing equipment and barbless hooks only
Catch and Release
Maximum three flies at one time
No flotation devices (No rafts, boats, tubes, bath tubs, etc.)
Return with a bag of trash that you picked up from your location (we will supply the bags).
All fishing will be done in pairs to verify catch (Please find a participating partner, if you can’t, the tourney committee will do its best to assign a partner.)
10 inch minimum for qualifying fish, round down to the nearest inch.

*Trophy, prizes for biggest Trout, most accumulated inches of trout, biggest Pike Minnow, biggest Sucker and Rookie award (fly fishing less than one year) for accumulated inches.
*Prizes for best and worst dressed participant. (You have to wear it all day until return @ check in)
*Prize for most trash collected

DINNER AND FESTIVITIES ONLY: $10 FEE, for whose who aren’t able to participate in the Tourney, but want to attend the dinner, festivities and to support the SSFFC. SSFFC membership is not a requirement for this portion of the event.
We have many items for the raffle from a Guide Trip from KR Troutfitters to books, hats, flies, discount coupons for Fly Fishing products and MORE! We will also hold a silent auction.

To anyone uninitiated, this may seem like a laize faire kind of club event... I ASSURE YOU, IT AIN'T!!!
Out of all the clubs I am in, THIS is the CREME DE LA CREME! I would skip my home club's annual event (10 minutes away) to attend THIS ONE... (3 hours away!)

I'm in... as is Chris Hynes... Our "treasurer" just sent in all our dues and app's for the event. I'm stoked and ready for food, fun, and LIVE MUSIC! (Chiaki knows how to pick 'em!)

I am SO stoked! This year, I hope to have an area set up for my rods, and anyone willing to bring a bamboo for casting. (Guy said he would provide an area for it.) And I'll bring some reels set up for 4 wt. silks if anyone wants to give 'em a try. BTW - I think anyone can cast silk to a dead on drop, so you might want to specify that's what you want in the casting contest... hint, hint... Roll Eyes

Let's go! Oh,wait, I have a week up in Bridgeport to do first... darn... hahahaha! I'll be ready when I get back, tho!!!

let's party... LEMONCELLO?? I've heard of that... HAHAHA

All I know is I had a great time last year and hope I can make it this year..... I've already opted to party and see Metallica with a hot tall thin blonde in Nashville for the 1st half of this week. I need a few more days to think this over but I'm really going to do my best to make it and be among such great people and fellow flyfishers. Best capmfire talks EVER!

My band has a gig in Palm Springs on the 19th. I'm fairly certain that the beverage intake will be comparable.....just no fishing Best wishes to everyone, and I can't wait to hear all about it.
